Great umbrella, will update this review when I test it more

Received my purple pagoda umbrella today and am very happy with it so far. It seems to have solid construction and nice style. Overall I would recommend this umbrella as a parasol. Haven't seen it run in the rain yet so I'll update this review when I see it. As for a fancy stick that could be used as an umbrella, there's an odd crack in the frame that makes it less durable for that function. I think this is the result of the umbrella pagoda style, the design grows out to create the shape of the style. First a description. The stem and grip are black, as is a four-inch tip. The ribbed inside is also black. Each panel is edged with cream piping with black polka dots. The panels themselves are purple, the exact color is personally the same as the photo on the site. The clasp is silver on a strap of the same purple fabric. The handle is covered in black leather-like material with heavy-duty stitching. The umbrella is packed in an easily detachable plastic case. The handle also had a plastic sleeve that looked like a lollipop. The umbrella doesn't work as smoothly as we would like. The mechanism for locking the umbrella in the folded or open position is the same as a traditional umbrella, but it uses nothing more than a plastic tab to activate it! I don't like it, it lowers the build quality significantly. Opening the umbrella is easy enough, it takes the form of a pagoda. But to close it, you need to make extra efforts. In terms of blocking sunlight, this umbrella does it wonderfully. I look forward to using it all summer long. Again, I'll update this review once I've racked up more mileage with this umbrella. I will keep you up-to-date. Update: I haven't tried it in the rain (stupid drought :( ) but I also have a black umbrella and it's just as good (if not more versatile) than purple, it's the same in every way, including the border, except of course the colors of the dome.I highly recommend both the purple and black versions of this umbrella!
