Good replacement for GPSMap 498 mount
I have a GPSMap 498 which mount broke after 11 years of use. I spoke to Garmin and asked for a replacement mount - they told me they no longer make a mount for this model of GPS. They essentially orphaned their product (can't find it here on ebay or anywhere online). On a whim I bought this mount (which is 3/8" too big for the 498) and stuffed one side with some 1/4" ID rubber washers (I had to cut the washers to wrap around them). ). parenthesis). support rod).
