Review on ๐Ÿงถ ChiaoGoo Red Lace Circular 40 inch (102cm) Steel Knitting Needle US Size 10 (6mm) 7040-10 by Jennifer Roberts

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The quality of this pair is lower, but it is still stable.

I don't know why but they were a bit rough in the metal part. Not enough to snag the faux yarn, but they weren't super-duper smooth like the other sizes of Chiagoo Red Lace needles I've purchased before. I probably bought about half a dozen other sizes before this one, ranging from a size 3 to a size 9. I LOVE long needle points and prefer to use them over bamboo or wood as they don't break or dig into a stitch, themselves in a tight sentence. The cable is smooth, strong and durable. It won't break unless you make a serious effort to fold it. The cables don't have memory like other brands. The cords won't twist or bounce around you if you loosely wrap the rings in some sort of container or sleeve. The joints are always smooth as silk. You may click a little when you have this style of knitting with metal needles, but it's not as loud as with aluminum Boye needles or collage squares. I'm not sure why? I'm a freelance knitter and some stitches are slipping off my needle when suddenly the cat bursts into my personal space from across the house. But I think the smooth metal was a bit rough on this pair. It looked more like bamboo because it was clinging to the yarn. I don't understand, is this a defective part? Overall, I've had amazing results using only the Chiagoo Red Circle Laces. I'm rid of all bamboo, plastic, and other metal needles once I try these little ones. The longer tip is perfect for my work. I love that I don't have to suffer to get the needlepoint into the stitches to make M1 or K2tog. I think narrow knitters could benefit from it too. Maybe it will help your rating? I was more than happy with the cost of the needles compared to the quality and I think they are cheap here averaging $11-15. My cat was also less interested. It really mocked my wooden needles, which meant the yarn couldn't go through the serrated grooves. They were retrieved from my knitting basket and later found in odd places like forgotten under furniture, or dragged into the kitchen to be smashed onto tiles with a mallet, or rushed into the bath tub for a really fun and slightly noisy game play I recommend storing in a cat-proof container. They're mostly catproof, even if your down has deadly sharp teeth. I can't cheer! this aspect is sufficient. The cables are amazing. They look like jacketed hardware store wire, but the jacket isn't as spongy as the plastic jacket on hardware cables. So elegant and easy to use!
