Review on ๐Ÿ“บ Sony KDL-40EX720 LED TV - 40 Inch by Micha Poklkowski แ Œ

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I am completely satisfied, item complies with description.

I read negative reviews about the model and decided to write my experience with this device. Before buying, I watched TVs from other manufacturers on real content and playback of a TV signal (and not "test" discs in the store !). The TV looks good and comfortable at home (but the brightness had to be increased), there are no problems with color, the picture is quite clear and NATURAL, perfectly reproduces dynamic scenes! Koreans are brighter (albeit unnecessarily), it can be clearer (subjectively, if compared side by side), but the naturalness of the image is better with SONY (there is no blurring of the image and artificiality). There are NO glare and spots on the image (which are mentioned in the next comment), even in the dark. To sum up, SONY looks very comfortable without cartoonish effect and twitching of the image even when playing a TV signal. The HD picture is great.

Pros
  • LED (i. E. thin body and low power consumption, as well as pleasant viewing in the evening), discreet design, convenient remote control, convenient menu, good sound (for a TV), NATURAL picture with GOOD color gamut, 100 Hz, good and fairly fast tuners, presence sensor (very useful), built-in 3D transmitter.
Cons
  • 1. Dark picture in dark scenes, which is caused by problems with the reproduction of black shades (quite critical on low quality content); 2. Low brightness. However, it can be increased by setting the matrix backlight to the maximum position and turning off the "Clear" or "Super-clear" mode in the MotionFlow settings); 3. Only one free USB connector (and flash media, a Wi-Fi module, a Skype video camera and maybe something else apply for it . The second USB is intended only for an external hard drive for recording TV programs), 4. About the remote control: I would like to have a backlight and a return to the previous channel button. 5. Really narrow viewing angles; 6. MotionFlow200 is apparently no longer 200 Hz, but an insertion of black half-frames (why the brightness suffers in some MotionFlow modes).
