I got this to add a second screen for my laptop. I have a 2019 MacBook air I got at the beginning of this year and have been working on it exclusively since March in quarantine. This docking station would be flush on a MacBook Pro but is not on my Air - this isn't a problem because I do have my laptop on a stand buy if I were traveling with it, I wouldn't be able to leave my case on it or sit flush on a table.At first it did not let me charge via the usb port - I had to remove the extension feature on my Mac charging cord before it would work, thankfully I had ordered a new surge protector that is closer and that wasn't a problem. Overall it works - but I would prefer something that was designed intentionally for my MacBook Air. There is one - it was out of stock.
