Installed on my 2002 F-150 yesterday. The fuel pump I had was weak and the engine stalled under load. After installation, the car started, but the fuel level sensor did not work. I knew I had removed the plastic bag and rubber band from the float prior to installation, so I knew that wasn't the problem. We dropped the tank again and found that the float arm was pretty tight compared to the original and the fuel level didn't budge it. We tried loosening it and making it easier to move by spraying wd-40 on the hinge, but it was still pretty stiff. We decided to test this before putting the tank back under the truck. I kept the float at the highest level and noticed that the fuel gauge read a little over 3/4 full. At this point we decided that instead of taking a risk, we knew the old float was working perfectly, so we would just remove the float from the old node and install it on the new one. He got up great. Anyone who has changed an in-tank fuel pump knows it hurts, and doing it twice because the new one went bad makes things extremely difficult. This build appears to be of decent quality and comparable to OEM, but the low price definitely takes its toll on quality control. My advice: test thoroughly before using the tank again, or buy a better one. Luckily the float on the original block was still okay, otherwise the truck would have stood still for at least a day.
