Sometimes it doesn't work, but mostly I saved some money and can't tell the difference in quality. However, I haven't had any luck with printers. After some setbacks and quality disappointments I decided to re-brand this toner and I was happy. I print about 10 pages a week for various reasons and the toner quality was good - it didn't dry out or dry out sooner than expected. As it is a registered trademark, the instructions are clear and match the markings on the printer itself, making installation easier. Worth a few dollars more.
