. It wasn't easy to put on, but it wasn't difficult once I figured it out. First remove the bite valve and then put the cap between the hose and the valve. Move the bite valve, maybe a few millimeters, so the rubber is stretched around the entire circumference of the hose and doesn't snag. The trick then is to firmly grip the bite valve and lid as if they were one solid piece and twist the whole thing back and forth, pushing inward until it's level and everything is in place. After that it felt secure and the valve stayed clean while the cap collected all the nasty dirt and dust I didn't want to see in my mouth.
