Keeps my hydrator valve clean

I bought this as a replacement as I unfortunately lost both the valve and the large bite. I believe this was because I didn't need to have the bite valve attached to the hose after cleaning. put my bag somewhere

Exactly what we needed!

I used to wrap my bite valve in cling film to keep it clean LOL but it wasn't aesthetically pleasing and after a while the film still wasn't sticking well. That was my band-aid back then, until I came across this product! The bite valve cover is awesome. I wish they had taken this with bubbles. I mean who doesn't want their valves protected when not in use? It just makes sense! We used to take our hydration bladders to theme parks and this was our perfect way to stay hydrated throughout the…

No more dirt or grime on the mouthpiece!

I've always hated it when my mouthpiece rubbed my sweaty hand with sunscreen. In addition, the children simply grabbed him with dirty hands. No longer! I love this mouthpiece case, it's really good. HOWEVER, it takes FOREVER to put it on a camel jacket. You have to push the end of the mouthpiece into this and into the whistle, which is very difficult. I easily spent over 20 minutes putting this together. I found a tip online to use hand sanitizer or rubbing alcohol as a lube (unscented so it…

This should be included with all Camelbak tanks

Seriously. Why do we pay so much for such a high quality product only to miss out on something as important as a valve cover? Is it like buying a Hydro Flask without a lid? Also, it was very easy to install. What worked for me was removing the silicone mouthpiece, putting it in this cap, aligning the base of the mouthpiece with the valve, wiggling it down, squeezing both and pushing the valve far enough until it feels secure . It doesn't feel like it's going anywhere unless I take it off. As…

A good accessory to keep the bite valve clean!

I have used this large bite pad several times with my Camelbak 3L hydration packs. While it was easy to use once plugged in, I had some trouble turning it on for the first time. It definitely requires some customization to get it. There are several other reviewers who have mentioned a few tricks to make this reporting a little easier. As for a truly functional review, I'd say it did the job. I was able to keep the bite valve cover cleaner than without it. This is especially useful on hikes…

Great once I was able to attach it.

. It wasn't easy to put on, but it wasn't difficult once I figured it out. First remove the bite valve and then put the cap between the hose and the valve. Move the bite valve, maybe a few millimeters, so the rubber is stretched around the entire circumference of the hose and doesn't snag. The trick then is to firmly grip the bite valve and lid as if they were one solid piece and twist the whole thing back and forth, pushing inward until it's level and everything is in place. After that it felt

Pros
  • . Easy to use.
Cons
  • . Slightly crumpled.

Mounted on Camelbak Ergo HydroLock with Big Bite valve

The Big Bite valve is a bit more difficult to remove and install, but not because of the tight fit. At least with the Ergo HydroLock, the cap actually has enough play to pivot around the valve, which is handy for positioning it so the loop can either point towards the end or away from the end. However, this means that you cannot directly hold the valve stem during assembly/disassembly. The strategy that works for me is to put the bit valve in the valve cap but not close the cap. Treat the valve

DO NOT DO THAT! best in Hydration Packs

DON'T DO IT! Some people advise using rubbing alcohol to lubricate the mouthpiece and help with adjustment. Not only is this unnecessary, it can also shorten the life of your mouthpiece. Rubbing alcohol degrades plastic/rubber over time, leading to loss of elasticity and cracking. STOP REPORTING THIS GUYS. With that said, I will now give my review: A SANITARY water system is SO important for backpacking because of the consequences dirty/unsanitary drinking can have. It doesn't take long to…
