Seriously. Why do we pay so much for such a high quality product only to miss out on something as important as a valve cover? Is it like buying a Hydro Flask without a lid? Also, it was very easy to install. What worked for me was removing the silicone mouthpiece, putting it in this cap, aligning the base of the mouthpiece with the valve, wiggling it down, squeezing both and pushing the valve far enough until it feels secure . It doesn't feel like it's going anywhere unless I take it off. As others have said, it's nice to have peace of mind knowing my water source is kept clean. Seriously, Camelbak, add $6 to the price of your packages to include this. There are cheaper alternatives.
