I have a 5 year old well used Silicon Power 32GB flash drive that is still able to sustain a write speed of over 70MB. I bought this 256GB version of the same drive. The maximum write speed is 20 MB on the same hardware. Not only that, but the write speed increases, then drops to zero for 5-10 seconds, and then increases again. Clearly defective so I sent it back to Revain. I have USB 2.0 flash drives that read and write faster. Maybe the other one works as intended, but I won't risk my data, especially when you can store a lot of files on a 256GB drive, which puts 8x more data at risk compared to a 32GB flash. Drive.
