The fact that it works at all is surprising given how Amazon has treated it and the replacement. The first came with a broken screen. To be on the safe side, I ordered a replacement. This box was destroyed even more. At the same time, one of them really worked, so this review is dedicated to him. The bass is a bit loose and boomy. Not bad and good enough for my setup (SMSL amp with 2 Samsung surround speakers to match my desk). The power cord is too short but very standard and I was able to buy a replacement. The included RCA is very thin and I didn't use it. Instead I got a 90 degree adapter and used my existing 3.5mm to coax cable (SMSL requires it for the subwoofer on this model). It goes lower than expected, but it's not a 12. It seems to me that it tries to be like that at times, which is why it sounds a little boomy and loose. However, this criticism comes from those who prefer closed subwoofers for home theater use. Loud enough for a desktop subwoofer and I tuned it in as best I could. I want the settings to be at the top or at the back. It's a hassle having to lift the subwoofer (under the table) and make filter and gain adjustments. All in all, for the price I bought it for, I can't really complain.
