Ultimately the device didn't work

I don't know how many reviews like this help because I doubt my experience is typical. However, I use switches almost as much as computers. I connected this device to two computers to test it out before proceeding to wire all the computers and organize the cables for the eight devices I planned to use. When connected to two computers, everything worked fine. However, when I plugged the device into all eight computers, turned everything off first, etc., it never worked properly. It would issue a keystroke or two to the selected computer and then just close. I finally decided to return the product as it didn't work for me in my environment. The device itself is well made and relatively small for the number of connections. It has a switch that lets you toggle KVM, and the cable to connect that switch to the box itself is the same length as a typical keyboard cable, making it convenient. KVM cables are also of high quality. They have a video connector on one end and separate video and USB connectors on the other. Apart from the fact that the device didn't work in my environment, the only downside I would like to point out is that the device beeps when switching computers. That's louder than the beeps of the KVM switches I've used over the years. I was really hoping that this product would work and again I have to assume that it generally works. The price makes it an attractive option. If it worked for me I would rate it a four out of five and again the only negative was the beep.
