After a few months of delay I finally found the time to use one of these to mount the camera to the saddle. Unfortunately, I couldn't screw the screw that holds the camera to the mount into the mount. The mount has a "fork" with three "teeth" that hold the GoPro camera body. This fork has one prong that is threaded for attaching the bolt, while the other two prongs simply have holes for the bolt. (The camera body has similar teeth with holes.) In order for the screw to reach the threads, the holes in the two teeth must line up exactly with the threads. She doesn't have my braces. This offset makes it impossible for the bolt to engage the thread. Now that the warranty period has expired I have to try to drill or chisel larger holes but even if that works it will affect the stability of the camera mount. To avoid such quality control issues, the brackets must be shipped with the screws *already installed*. This ensures everything works before it hits the packaging and also eliminates the possibility of shipping damage to sensitive fingers that need to stay aligned. Having a spare screw is useful anyway and probably won't increase the cost of the product.
