This gear was a replacement for the original device which broke off a few teeth over the course of the tough cookie dough. The replacement came quickly and fit perfectly. It worked great on light batters like pancake batter. However, when my wife started baking cookies, towards the end of the batch, the stirring blade began to slip. I disassembled the blender again, which is very painful. I have traced the problem back to this gearbox. Incredibly, the plastic rim of the teeth slipped around the central metal hub. This can be visualized by taking the blender apart and holding the gear with your fingers while turning the blender blade with your other hand. It was clear that the gear on the end of the shaft was spinning, but I was able to hold the plastic gear with my bare fingers. I received a refund and will buy another brand. Not a Chinese brand if I can find it.
