The gear slides too easily

The plastic part of the gear slides too easily on the inner metal part, I had to remove it and replace it with the original part after 3 months. Most people don't seem to have this problem so it seems to be a quality control issue but I wouldn't risk it with this product.

Right Mechanism, Right Price

KitchenAid wanted to charge $40-$50 to ship the stand mixer back and assured us the repair would cost less than $200. much less than it would have shipped, and a YouTube video on replacing this particular mechanism in KitchenAid made the repair relatively easy. Completely satisfied.

Cons
  • Good, but not great

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Does not work properly when mixing thick batter

This part is the same size and shape as the original but does not have the same reliability characteristics and is made from a different material. The gear part (plastic teeth) was not attached to the metal mandrel that is in the center of the gear. As a result, the gear slides/rotates around the mandrel and the blender cannot mix anything with a lot of resistance, e.g. B. Dough. Turned out to be a waste of time and money. Now I have ordered a factory replacement for a lot of money.

DO NOT BUY ! in Kitchen & Dining

If you buy this worm gear, it will cost you a lot more (both heartbreak and money). I bought this gear and installed it in my KitchenAid mixer. When I tried to knead the dough for bread, the mixer started to slow down and eventually stopped turning. I spoke to a professional who explained to me that the gear is cast on an aluminum part and the original part has a rough surface so the casting sticks to it, this gear has a smooth aluminum surface so there is not good adhesion between plastic and…

Cons
  • Almost everything is fine

Fit is the most important attribute, especially when it's not.

When I got my new gear I found it to be a lot lighter than the old one I had taken off. I compared both gears side by side and after visually inspecting the teeth of the old gear I was inclined to put it back as the teeth were fine. The problem was solved when I reassembled the gear with a new part and couldn't get the pin through the gear and shaft. With a suitable punch, the pin only goes 2/3 through the gear and shaft before hanging on the other side. I pulled the pin out and put a "scratch…

First series of tests failed! Not "ultra " and not durable

This gear was a replacement for the original device which broke off a few teeth over the course of the tough cookie dough. The replacement came quickly and fit perfectly. It worked great on light batters like pancake batter. However, when my wife started baking cookies, towards the end of the batch, the stirring blade began to slip. I disassembled the blender again, which is very painful. I have traced the problem back to this gearbox. Incredibly, the plastic rim of the teeth slipped around the

Cons
  • I won't say anything

I ordered this product despite the negative reviews. After spending some time researching OEM replacement parts and evaluating pricing and shipping, I decided it was worth a try. So far he has held up very well. I should probably mention that after this replacement I put this particular blender on a lighter setting as I believe I damaged the motor when I broke the first worm gear. I now use the 650w version for baking bread and such (it works much better anyway). I've used a new worm gear for…

DO NOT BUY! NOT FACTORY CERTIFIED, will fail under heavy load!

DO NOT BUY A KITCHEN WORM OR ANY REPLACEMENT THAT IS CLEARLY NOT "FACTORY CERTIFIED". I am in no way affiliated with KitchenAid or Whirlpool (certified parts manufacturer) and to save some money I sometimes buy replacement parts that are not factory or OEM certified, but this is one of those situations where you need the right part ! There are plenty of these cheap knock offs at Revain and elsewhere. They look like they're factory certified and generally fit the same, but they're a different…
