DO NOT BUY! NOT FACTORY CERTIFIED, will fail under heavy load!

DO NOT BUY A KITCHEN WORM OR ANY REPLACEMENT THAT IS CLEARLY NOT "FACTORY CERTIFIED". I am in no way affiliated with KitchenAid or Whirlpool (certified parts manufacturer) and to save some money I sometimes buy replacement parts that are not factory or OEM certified, but this is one of those situations where you need the right part ! There are plenty of these cheap knock offs at Revain and elsewhere. They look like they're factory certified and generally fit the same, but they're a different design and fail under heavy loads. You can spend an hour or two installing and lubricating these cheap spares and the blender will work just fine when you turn it on to check (no load) and you'll think everything is fine. The catch is, you don't know they're going to fail until they've been stressed for a while, and it probably won't happen until the next time you decide to knead some dough and it's too late, part with Revane return . Then you need to take your blender apart (again) and find a reliable replacement. I assume most of the positive reviews for this product are from reviewers who haven't used their "refurbished" mixer to make thick batter or batter. The inherent disadvantage of this cheap copy (and others) is that instead of a factory knurled/textured aluminum B-pillar, they mold plastic gears around a grooved brace - see photo (and you can't see how bad the construction of the fake is). because the plastic covers the point of contact with the metal surface). There is nothing holding the plastic in place other than the initial stickiness of the plastic. At higher torque, the plastic separates from the aluminum and slides in the channel like ice skates. Factory certified plastic gears are cast and meshed in aluminum knurled nuts. They don't slide on the pole. Certified replacement parts can cost a little more, but given the time it takes to change the worm gear and work with the lube, it's obviously worth spending a few bucks more and having the right replacement part that will last and actually last. works the way it's supposed to work under pressure.
