Review on 🎧 Graphite Plantronics BackBeat GO 410 Wireless Headphones with Active Noise Cancelling Earbuds by Andrea Lee

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The noise cancellation is not very good.

This is of a 73 year old male with a normal, moderate hearing loss that sometimes makes it difficult to distinguish voice from background noise. I only use my headphones to listen to voice podcasts while hiking and biking, and I rarely listen to music. First I tried two earbuds, a Sony and a JBL. Both didn't fit well in my ear, allowing background noise to get in. I believe this was because the larger size of the main unit did not allow the earpiece to fully penetrate the ear canal. Maybe I have a small ear? When I pressed hard on the earbuds, everything was fine. I also had trouble plugging in both in-ear headphones (it took a few tries), and JBL's left ear kept dying. The Plantronics fit my ear much better and provide a better seal. Cozy. No pairing problems. Losing the left side is not a problem. However, I am very disappointed with the noise cancellation. It is barely noticeable, slightly muffles low frequencies, does not affect high frequencies. To test, I sat 3 feet in front of the Bose speakers on my desktop computer (quiet room) and played various Youtube videos with "background noise". As I walked down the busy path, I clearly heard the chatter of others as they passed.

Pros
  • Brilliantly made
Cons
  • Slightly torn
