Really pretty good best headphones

I have used plantronics wireless headphones before and loved them. They have always been extremely reliable and the battery has held up quite well. I can't say how long these batteries will last over time, but for now they're delivering above average performance. I was surprised at how well they do noise canceling as headphones and I suspect they would be better if I experimented with ear tip sizes. I don't need that much noise cancellation right now, but if I ever get to go airborne again I'll

Excellent ANC; Good sound quality; Strange ergonomics

Bought a pair based on Wirecutter reviews. All in all pretty decent headphones. Good: The Smart Lock feature works great with my phone. I never realized how much I needed this feature. I think the sound quality is good (both music and spoken language). I'm not an audiophile; So my opinion is a lay opinion. - The voice quality of phone calls is good, especially when HD Voice is enabled. - The battery lasts up to 5 hours with ANC activated. Bad: - I don't understand the weird rubber band that…

Active noise cancellation or noise isolation?

First of all, I don't like that you can only choose between strong bass and bright mode. There has to be something in the middle with more balance. Overall the fit is quite good. The controls sit a few inches from your ear, allowing you to freely scan the cable's twist, compromising on ergonomics. I believe that the ANC function is false advertising. The medium earbuds cover the most comfortable spots but don't block noise. I could literally talk to someone over the music. I opted for larger…

Two of them died after 1.5 years

I bought this device after reading a Wirecutter (NYT) review. I was very satisfied with the device up to 9 months. after purchase if the device stops working. The voice prompt, indicating the device is turning on and connecting, stops mid-sentence and there is silence. The support rep asked me to 'forget' and then pair all bluetooth devices from my phone as this seems to reset the 'bluetooth stack'. It worked for a while, but then the sound in the left earbud stopped working. I received a…

The noise cancellation is not very good.

This is of a 73 year old male with a normal, moderate hearing loss that sometimes makes it difficult to distinguish voice from background noise. I only use my headphones to listen to voice podcasts while hiking and biking, and I rarely listen to music. First I tried two earbuds, a Sony and a JBL. Both didn't fit well in my ear, allowing background noise to get in. I believe this was because the larger size of the main unit did not allow the earpiece to fully penetrate the ear canal. Maybe I…

Obnoxious sound spoils amazing ergonomics and decent noise cancellation

I bought these based on reviews here and on Wirecutter, they seem too good to be true. Well they are. Amazing ergonomics and decent noise cancellation are a big compromise at this price point. In this case frankly bad sound quality. Pros: The headphones fit completely in the ear, so they are super comfortable. The noise reduction feature works well, although it produces a surprising amount of audible high-frequency white noise. Cons: Unacceptably poor sound quality for the price. Actually, I…
