Review on J Tech Digital CONNECTION Extender Ethernet by Nick Kirschenmann

Easy setup

I have this and another receiver. I have a Comcast set-top box that's in a closet in another part of the house where there are no TVs, and it works the same as the set-top box next to the TV. I connected the receiver to each TV in the living room and bedroom and now each TV shows video when I select a channel in the Comcast box. (Only one channel is shown because there is only one set-top box.) So here's my setup: Category 6 cabling to endpoints in the house (beyond where TVs are mounted on walls, intercoms, desktop -Access points, XBox network connection etc. ) go to the information cabinet in the middle of the house. I also have a TV cable connection in the data closet. In my data closet I have a Tripp Lite 25U Rack, 2-Post Open Frame Network Equipment Rack, 800lb Capacity (SR2POST25) with some NETGEAR JGS524PE-100NAS 24-Port Gigabit Smart Managed Plus Switch, 100W PoE, L2, Lifetime ProSAFE protection. I have switches installed in a rack along with multiple shelving units. On the shelves are my cable modem/router and a Comcast Xfinity set-top box. The TV cable feed is split into a cable modem and a set-top box. I installed the transmitter in a closet with an HDMI cable to the set top box. The Ethernet transmitter is connected to a switch in the rack. IR output is placed where radiation is visible from the front of the console. On the back of each TV I have a receiver and a small Rosewill Gigabit Router 5 Port Gigabit Network Switch/Ethernet Switch/Desktop Switch with 9K Jumbo Frame and Quiet for Home and Small Business (RC-409LXv2). I connected the receiver and TV to a small router, and then the small router was plugged into the outlet behind the TV (meaning it plugged into the router in the data closet). I switched the TV to the receiver's HDMI input and there was nothing else to do. The TV remote control controls the set top box in the closet via the IR ports. and then the little router is plugged into the outlet behind the TV (meaning it plugs into the router in the data closet). I switched the television to the HDMI input of the receiver, that was all I could do.
