What was once wood is now plastic.
I'm so glad I bought these a few years ago when they were square and wooden. Too bad they are now plastic. Part of what attracts me to Hape is that the toys are made out of wood. You can get plastic everywhere. Wood is something special. Also the sound the balls make when they hit wood is incredibly beautiful, I haven't heard those plastic balls but I can't imagine they sound better than the two tone sound of marbles hitting a wooden floor and then meet a wooden wall comes out labyrinth.
