I didn't want the velcro to stick to multiple windshields and was looking for a quality alternative to the suction cup. I've tried plastic before (cheap in quality not price) and they either break or fall and fall under the seat once you get to the tollbooth (pretty much as they know lol). These metal holders are perfect for the newer (smaller) version of EZ-Pass transponders, stick like glue to a (clean) windshield in all weather conditions, are easy to remove and install in another vehicle (perfect for rental cars!) and much more mainly . they have NO influence on the function of the transponder! None of them fell off the windshield (after careful cleaning and mounting with a dampened suction cup). I've even used this holder once on a motorcycle windshield and it has held up well on many tolls over an 800 mile trip. secure. I really don't want to risk bumps and wind shear causing the suction cup to vibrate. Replacing the holder and transponder cost me money. not to mention that I don't have it when I need it at the tollbooth!
