I needed to fit a valve stem to the rim of a lawnmower. I ordered a valve stem and saw this tool. I wasn't sure how it would work since I never used it, but I know how difficult it was in the past to pry the valve stem through the rim with pliers. This instrument is well made, of heavy construction, and should last long after I die. Best of all, it pulled the valve stem out with little effort. I recommend this tool to anyone who needs to install a valve stem. You never know when you, a friend or relative might want to borrow it. The low price is worth it in the hassle saved. This tool works by partially threading the valve stem through the hole in the wheel and then threading the tool onto the valve stem. Then press the tool handle against the rim again, pulling the valve stem into place. Pretty elegant. Must be suitable for all applications from lawn tractors to semi-trailers.
