Ability to get planes 45 miles away in NYC

I can get planes talking to NY Approach about 45 miles away in the NY area so I'd say the range for the price is pretty good. I have one on the Uniden BC125AT scanner and the range with this antenna is better than the stock antenna. I have to say that it wobbles on the connector compared to the Uniden antenna that came with it. It's a bit annoying because when you open it all the way, it wobbles noticeably.
