Perfect fit for Uniden SDS100

Perfect fit for my Uniden SDS100, just be careful as a fully extended link can come loose. However, this is not a disadvantage of this product, any retractable antenna will do.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Well made CB range extender antenna

Well made telescopic antenna with BNC connector. Suitable for any radio with this connection. It's 48 inches long, which is enough to put out a decent signal for a portable CB set, especially when compared to the useless rubber antenna that comes with most portable CB sets. Portable or scanner, especially if you listen to the low frequency range (30 to 50 MHz).

Pros
  • Practical item
Cons
  • Interchangeable

Can get planes 45 miles from NY

I can get planes to talk to NY Flies about 45 miles in the NY area so I would say the range for the price is good. I have one on the Uniden BC125AT scanner and the range with this antenna is better than the stock antenna. I have to say that it wobbles on the connector compared to the Uniden antenna that came with it. It's a bit annoying because when you open it all the way, it wobbles noticeably.

Pros
  • High support and durability ratings from testers
Cons
  • Some minor things

My portable radios harnessed

I have a Midland 75-785 and a Uniden Pro 401 HH both with a standard rubber antenna. This limited her line of sight and did not allow her to be used for car-to-car transmission. I fixed these antennas and went for a walk. I was able to communicate with a radio in the house 1/3 mile away. Obstacles such as trees, other houses and a small hill were overcome. Great product! I can recommend it. 4 stars because the antennas on both radios are not as tight as the standard antennas.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Nothing

BNC connector in radio scanners

I live in a rural area where there is no analogue state patrol so half the purpose of an analogue scanner is lost. As others have pointed out, this can make a handheld scanner too heavy. If you're listening to the 400 band, it works fine without the extension. If you prefer to listen to the 100 band, extend the antenna about halfway. Expand it fully for even lower frequencies (e.g. listen to truckers on their CB radios). All I can say is that it reduces blur when you're close to anotherโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Mating
