Beautiful display in terrible packaging

The actual display on this thing is fantastic. Unfortunately there isn't 10-bit color support like a similar ASUS monitor I've had before, but still a great picture with decent color accuracy, a good refresh rate and perfect resolution for its size. The curve is ideal for a typical viewing distance as a main monitor, making it flat. I have used monitors of this size that are not curved and it is much more comfortable. Unfortunately, the rest of the physical form is pretty bad. The monitor is quite heavy, which is what I was expecting, but the whole body is cheap plastic, it wobbles a bit and looks like it's going to fall apart with any movement. The monitor's controls are accessible via a decent grip UI, but the grip has an incredibly bright white LED that can be turned off in the settings but *doesn't turn off* when the monitor goes to sleep, regardless of the setting . . Instead, you get a bright blinking LED that only stops completely when you manually turn off the monitor. I wouldn't recommend it in the bedroom. The USB-C connection is pretty solid, with standard Type-A connectors going through well and also providing power to most of the devices connected to it. This is an especially good experience for a MacBook Pro or one of the newer Mac Minis. When connecting via DisplayPort, G-Sync and Freesync work great if you enable them in the OSD. I've had no issues with G-Sync on two high-end Nvidia cards with this display.
