I've only had this a day, so I can't say much about durability. But the first impression after 24 hours is that it does what it's supposed to do. Setup can be tricky as the instructions don't explain it properly. If you program the wake-up time, you must make it a few minutes later than the current time. For example, it is now 7:47 p.m. I would set the on time to 7:48. So if you change the mode to AUTO (timer running), it will turn on. After that, go back and change it to the time you want. When I got mine it was 7pm and I set the on time to 8am. In AUTO mode, the timer wanted to wait until 8am to turn on, rather than accepting that 8am is the time between now and my next OFF time. It sounds complicated, but after reading the instructions everything will become clear. In general, a pleasant device.
