Decent 4 Buck Knife

Let's be honest. This is a cheap $4 knife I had on sale. If you don't expect much, you won't be disappointed. However, with a little work, this is a decent utility knife. I wasn't talking about a dive knife, I was talking about a stationery knife. Remember, we're only talking about $4 here. You can use it like a dive knife, but it will be disposable at best. Salt water will ruin this knife very quickly. Stainless steel? Yes how. This is probably the lowest grade of stainless steel as a strong magnet will catch it. Expect this knife to rust in any adverse condition. Keep it clean and dry and that will do. Salt water is a big problem. The rubber bands are narrow and very long. I saved the straps for another project. Never throw away decent rubber bands, they will always come in handy for something else. The scabbard is made of hard plastic and is very bulky. I gave it up. I have a few extra sheaths that fit a 4 inch blade. The knife itself is fine. I like the notches on the opposite side as the length of the blade doesn't decrease. Thumb raises and feathers are the same. There are holes on the shaft. to reduce the overall length and, if necessary, to provide attachment points. The blade is 4.25 inches long and has a fairly coarse bevel. About 5 minutes on the stone just sharpened it. If you have a small diameter whetstone you can adjust the teeth to your liking. The handle/shank appears to be made for paracord or a rubberized finish. Plasti-dip. A little time to load and this knife costs $4.
