Effective in difficult cases

I photograph antiques and need to polish heavily tarnished and damaged silver and chrome almost every day. Simicrome is the only product I've found that can cut through thick, black tarnish or salt damage on sterling silver, and also brings dull, pitted chrome back to life. I have found that I can polish heavily tarnished sterling silver about twice as fast as with regular pastes or liquids. Tubes are expensive but portable, and a little polish goes a long way. After polishing, antique silver takes on a warm, soft luster that approximates that of a butler's shine, without the use of jewelry blush. Before I found Simicrome, I would use a silver bath (which I really hate) for stubborn stains and then apply a polishing paste to get rid of the weird, matte white finish the bath leaves behind. It is worth noting that this product is difficult to use. Hands if you use it frequently and don't want it getting in your eyes. Treat like an industrial product - wear gloves and safety glasses when applying with a brush or other applicator that can cause back spatter.

Pros
  • Highly rated by testers for grip and durability
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks
