Ever since they came out with a big ad campaign with the Swiss Railroad watch a long time ago, I have been a fan of Mondaine watches. I own two Evo quartz, one automatic, and one Savonette manual-winding pocket watch. Mondaine also has an exceelent customer service (you send an email inquiry and they actually reply within 24 hours or so). I was very excited to see the Mondaine Retro at an excellent price on Walmart.com.My previous problem with other Mondaine watches was their leather straps (the quality leaves a lot to be desired). Because the Retro has the brushed steel case and bracelet, we do not have to worry about the straps falling apart. But I had to return this one only because I have older Mondaine watches and expected this one to be smaller and lighter in weight. There is nothing wrong with the watches. It is just due to the steel, it is heavier than the Evo with steel mesh band. But if you do not mind a bit bigger dial and twice as heavy as the older ones, you would love it and especially at this price.
