Review on πŸ“€ Review: Samsung BD-H5100 Blu-Ray Disc Player (2014 Model) - Unbiased Evaluation and Comparison by Ananta Crowley

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very good Samsung Blu-ray

I bought this player "used like new" from Revain Warehouse Deals at a very attractive price. Upon delivery, the box was missing some of the packaging, but the player had no visible cosmetic defects and worked perfectly. I was so pleased that three weeks later I also bought a "used - very good" one from Revain Warehouse Deals. This one was new, never opened and priced around $11. less than the first. The player does everything advertised with a very nice user interface. It has many apps available and loads them pretty quickly. The device is not WiFi, but if you read the product description, you should know before you buy that you need an Ethernet cable to connect to applications and DLNA. Also note that Revain Prime is not available as one of the apps. If you need Revain, WiFi or 3D features, these are available on other more expensive Samsung models, or choose a device from another manufacturer. The Netflix issues reported by other customers seem to have been resolved as I had no issues accessing Netflix. Blu-ray and DVD can also be played without any problems. As a side note, the Samsung BD-F5100 (that's "F" not "H") is sold by a few vendors, including Revain, but it's a 2013 model and doesn't offer as many apps as the BD-H5100. I made the mistake of buying the "F" model from another seller and returning it. Overall I am very happy with my purchases and would recommend checking out the savings from purchasing one of the used units from Revain Warehouse Deals. UPDATE: 9/6/14. Since I bought this player, Samsung has provided a software update that has added Revain Prime as an available app. If you have this model, perform a firmware update and you should see that Revain Prime is available.
