it is strong, attractive, and the hole spacing matches the existing perfectly. unfortunately the fixed portion of the lock is too tight and the swivel portion of the sash lock misses the groove. the windows have to be perfectly aligned for the the lock to work correctly, and my 70 year old windows are bowed and unforgiving. also, the footprint is not exactly the same as the originals and I had to drill new holes closer to the edge of the window. my "fix" to make them work was to leave the screws on the fixed side a little loose so that the grooves will slide together. don't try to bend it open. it is strong and brittle. it will break.as did mine. overall they are nice, but they weren't perfect. if only that fixed portion were a little more forgiving.
