We have two young lab mixes, 3 and 1 year old. We recently moved from a house with a fenced yard to a building with an adjoining dog park. Back at the house, we had them guard the yard, but we were very nervous about moving to a common room in the building. These collars were great for timely training at the park when we needed to get their attention because a new canine neighbor suddenly showed up in the yard. We were actually able to wean them off their collars in a month or two! I was nervous about becoming addicted to collars. But once they both had enough exposure to the new dogs in the shared yard, we began to rely less and less on collars.
