This product is defective in design. Where the stain meets the body is a lip. Water sits there and causes rust. You have to stick your finger down the spout and hand dry it. Nobody checked that in Chantal? Customer service told me they only rust when damaged. Although there is a ledge that collects water, I somehow smack something against the inner joint of the spout and create a ledge. Oh well. This product is designed to be cute (which it is) to use on a daily basis. Update: Customer service told me it was fine to pick up rust daily and sent me a wikipedia article as proof.
