Review on 🍳 Breville BOV900BSS Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro: Powerful Countertop Convection Oven in Brushed Stainless Steel by Christin Ridder

A true multi-function oven that's proofer, fryer and dehydrator all in one

Breville Smart Oven Air I tested the new Breville Smart Oven Air this week. It's exceeded my expectations in every way and I'm really enjoying it so far. Not only does this oven look great on the counter, it doesn't take up too much space and its versatility is amazing. And the new industrial design is timeless and suits every style. I think it's a real oven. People like me who have bought a slightly smaller Smart Oven Pro have found that it can really replace their larger oven to cook many dishes. This really is a real oven that can cook anything your main oven can, even a 14-pound turkey, but with more efficiency. The interior of this oven is huge, measuring 16 inches wide, 12 inches deep and 7 inches high, giving you more room for large loaves of bread or roasts without touching the top elements. There is an additional element on the top, a total of 6 quartz elements. The 8 shelf positions offer a range of heights to cook a variety of different sized dishes and easily fit in a large roasting pan. The features of this model make it much more versatile than the Smart Oven Pro, now with 13 different modes. . In addition to the 10 Pro modes, Air adds great features such as: B. a proofing mode that allows you to let your dough rise properly for perfect baking results. They've also added a dehydrator feature that lets you dehydrate a variety of foods like fruit snacks or beef jerky, and dehydrate up to four trays at a time. The new super convection mode increases fan speed for crispier results and faster cooking speeds than ever before, and so far I've had nothing but good results. The most interesting is the Air Frying mode. Not only does this eliminate the need for a separate appliance, but frozen snacks such as french fries and onion rings can also be cooked superbly with even browning and perfect crispiness. Baking in this oven is precise and gives consistent results. The cookies came out evenly browned on all sides. I roasted a chicken that turned out delicious with the new step-by-step cooking feature. With phase cooking, you can set two back-to-back cooking functions, for example to quickly sear and brown a roast on the outside, and automatically switch to a lower, slower cooking method for the rest of the time. This is one of my favorite features that allows you to get incredible results without much effort. Also new is the turn reminder, which alerts you halfway through to turn the pan for the best, most even results. I've found this really useful, especially in cases where I'm using two racks at the same time. With all the baking and roasting this oven does, it's easy to forget that it doubles as a 9-slot toaster! This oven directs the heat exactly where it's needed for the most even toasting I've ever seen. The bagels were browned on top but the bottom remained soft and lightly toasted. And if you've just toasted a bagel or baked toast and the oven is still hot, then it's smart enough to adjust the cooking time if you want to bake more, so your toast always has the same color whether you start cold or hot Oven. The bagel took about 6 minutes in a cold oven, and when I went to toast another, it took just over 3 minutes. This oven takes a little longer to toast than the Smart Oven Pro, but only a minute longer. Some of the negative reviews about the Smart Oven Pro related to a control panel malfunction... so they added a cooling fan to the air control box. bezel to protect sensitive electronics from overheating and extend the life of the oven, and they extended the warranty to two years instead of one. While the fan is annoying, if it helps the oven run longer I can live with it. We use this oven several times a day in our home and it has never let us down. But I could go on and on about this stove, so I'll just list what I liked and didn't like the most. What I liked best about this oven: - The light comes on when you open the door - The timer stops when the door is opened - The volume is adjustable and can be completely muted - Seal the doors on all sides, to retain more heat , increase efficiency - Oven door stays open 1-4" without having to open it - Thick, quality shelves - Sear function works better than Pro function - Auto eject for toasting and Air Roast - New magnetic grill ejector design - New fan design moves more air - Large, bright display is easy to read and interpret - 2 grills instead of one - Comfortably fits an 11 lb turkey roast for amazing results. Bakes two cakes at a time or two baking sheets and reminds you to turn halfway through the baking time. Warms up to 10 degrees from the set temperature. Two cooking cycles in one dislike - The convection fan is incredibly loud, especially in super mode - The fan on the front is loud and turns on every time the oven is activated, even in toast mode where the fan isn't really needed. - I want the oven light to stay on until I turn it off and get the temp, 20 minutes to get to 400F Other Features - The edges of the grate rub against the 3rd or 4th position of the grill when the door is opened and closed on the glass. The size of the oven can be a bit big for small tasks. What is it for? I think this oven is for serious cooking, a bit over the top for a student for example. This really is a real oven that can be used as a toaster. If you find you need a second oven from time to time, this is a great option. In fact, this stove will be the best wedding gift for newlyweds. Recommended? Yes! If you're looking for a countertop oven to replace your cooktop and use as a toaster, it may be a bit pricey, but the versatility, convenience, and features of this model will exceed your expectations as much as mine. With all the features and capabilities of a full range oven, you're sure to love the premium Air Smart Oven. Was this review helpful to you? Vote below!
