That does not work ! good for office electronics

Product does not work! My girlfriend has a betheirvoice rescue dog so I bought this for her as a gift. But we didn't use it soon enough to realize it didn't work at all. It's been waiting for about a month after the return period, so we're sticking with it for now.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

It's great to be able to show families that.

This chip scanner is a must have for any pet breeder! It's great to be able to show the microchip number to the families who bought our puppies. Also, if you have a very big litter and the little stinkers lose/crawl off their collars, don't worry, just check the chips! Decent price compared to competitors. We've been using it for several weeks now. The battery works great. Very happy. Would love to buy it again and can only recommend it.

Pros
  • Easy to install
Cons
  • May cause injury

Works well: Scanner

I used this scanner at a cat shelter where I volunteer. I needed one at home as I raise kittens most of the time. The last 2 groups of kittens could not be color differentiated so I needed this scanner to administer medication. It works great, easy to use and lasts forever based on my experience with this brand at a shelter. I highly recommend this brand if you need a scanner.

Pros
  • Dope ๐Ÿ”ฅ
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Ideal for rescuers!

All our volunteers use them to search stray dogs for chips. This helped us quickly reunite the animals with their owners without having to take the dogs to the shelter. You sometimes have trouble reading old AVID chips. The device must be fully charged and the pet must be moved slowly. Overall a great product for the price!

Pros
  • So far so good
Cons
  • Expensive

Just don't - Office Electronics

Read only 1 in 10 known cut animals - all chipped with 10 or 15 digit Avid chips. Shipping back because it didn't work as advertised had to pay $8.75 for return shipping and my refund will reflect a 15% restocking fee. All in all I had to pay $20 to try a product that doesn't work as advertised. Buyer Warning!

Pros
  • Not cheap but decent
Cons
  • Frequency

Cute, compact, useful

I breed Boston Terriers and chip my puppies. This chip reader is perfect for scanning the chip before insertion to ensure the number matches the sticker and after insertion to ensure the chip is actually in the dog and hasn't fallen out or been left in the needle compartment. Only the reader shows the chip number, not the owner information. If you're using it on stray animals, you'll need to google the chip number to determine which company made it, then contact and work with the company toโ€ฆ

Pros
  • There is something to it
Cons
  • embarrassing

Found the chip very quickly

I've used this to check for chips on most animals known to be chipped (to make sure the chips work and the animals stay straight). It finds 24 Pet Watch chips very quickly. I haven't found any other chips yet, but probably because these animals aren't chipped (I work in ambulance and we check animals in shelters, they're usually checked when they're admitted to the shelter, but we'll try to check again). A small problem is the screen. There is already a pixel that shows up as a comma all theโ€ฆ

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Can't remember but there was something

I work for a homicide and we always .

I work in a non-homicide animal rescue and we always need a microchip scanner for incoming dogs What struck me about the Halo microchip scanner is that it doesn't always recognize every microchip. I scanned 3 dogs - the Halo microchip scanner only found 1 microchip out of 3. I used a different brand of scanner and was able to find microchips on the other 2 dogs. With this scanner you take risks. Hit or miss when you scan dogs with this microchip scanner. Since most shelters keep dogs 5 daysโ€ฆ

Pros
  • understandable even for old people
Cons
  • too stupid

Helped bring a street cat missing for 2 years back to the owners :)

We have a few vagrants in our area and I didn't want to take them to the vet to have them checked out and them scare while catching them. I bought these, found the chipless one and found a great home for it, and the second was a cat that walked the streets in our area for 2 years that everyone thought was someone's cat but actually left them at night the owner the state. I gave up some treats after a few weeks of gaining the cats trust, I used the halo scanner and heard it beep! I was shockedโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Nice touch
Cons
  • A number of factors
