! LEAVE THE OPERATING EQUIPMENT!

A pair of *genuine* OPA1656s are an unbeatable and must-have upgrade for the stock NE5532 op amps. I have no regrets after rolling this amp. Now A07 gives a very pleasant, relaxed and analogue, almost vinyl-like music sound! The bass performance is also noticeably improved. The budget class D buff is now improved and redefined by Ladies and Germs! Unfortunately, most if not all of the reviewers who criticize the amp's lack of tonality, lack of soundstage, etc. have not updated the A07 op amps. They invariably deny themselves a vastly enhanced and truly immersive listening experience. The physical effort and financial investment required to upgrade is extremely small when you consider the end result of the process (your listening experience). I'm currently loading A07 music from a Khadas Tone Board (Generic) DAC via a USB-C connection. If your speakers are extremely inefficient, or you're willing to damage your hearing, the included power adapter should put out more than enough decibels. My Sony SS-CS5 bookshelf speakers LOVE this little beast! I didn't even really like listening to Sony until I connected them to a knurled Aiyima. After a few hours of listening at a decent (and sometimes obscene) volume, the amp and its power supply got a little warmer. The volume control rubs slightly on the case when turned, but this does not affect the sound quality or functionality. I fully understand that this somewhat rambling review may sound a bit exaggerated, but I assure you it is not. Feel free if you are thinking of buying AND upgrading it. Rolling cost is less than Jackson if you already have an IC puller. It took me about 10 minutes to complete the update. Don't bother thanking me for the advice. You'll thank yourself after experiencing that warm, fuzzy feeling that comes when a simple feat leads to such an intensely satisfying result.
