Review on πŸ”§ Honda Valve Adjusting Wrench 10mm by Powerbuilt by Jason Epstein

It could be better. Best in Tools and Equipment

The tooling wasn't great. It was a loose fit on the jam nuts, which made me nervous about the possible rounding of the nuts. In addition, the buyer is paying attention. If you are using this on a Honda V6 engine like the J series engines in the Odyssey, Pilot or Ridgeline it will be difficult to use this tool to adjust the exhaust valves on the rear cylinder head. Due to the position of the head, the exhaust valves are angled down and towards the firewall. The shape of the bulkhead and engine wiring harness above the cylinder head make it impossible to use the tool on some valves. You should have a 10mm box end wrench and a short screwdriver for those hard to reach places. The same applies to some of the exhaust valves on the front cylinder head. Again, use a 10mm wrench and a short screwdriver for areas this tool won't fit. Despite my criticisms, this tool is still worth buying. This made adjusting the valves where they fit very easy. I would like it to fit better, a little tighter on the lock nut to minimize the chance of rounding. I would also like a different viewing platform. I assume the tool has an open spot so you can see where you're putting the screw bit so you don't have to fiddle around trying to get the screwdriver into the slot. I would like a different viewing platform. This isn't a deal breaker by any means, but it would be nice if you didn't fiddle around to try and move the tool so you can see where the screwdriver is going. This tool is definitely useful. It needs some improvements.

Pros
  • Pretty impressive
Cons
  • boring packaging
