Review on APEC Alkaline Water Filter System ROES PH75 by Bobby Plymell

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It tastes great! Less filling!

Benefits Makes water delicious Eliminates the need to buy plastic bottles with BPA or to go to a machine or store to fill heavy jugs Holds enough water in the reservoir for me to fill the water tank of my Keurig K55 coffee maker, fill two Bottle 20 oz stainless steel water and drink a couple of 20 oz glasses of water in the morning. Cons: May not fit under the sink. You may need to drill an extra hole in the sink for the dispenser. Transparency of water or the first few days. Overall I am very happy with this purchase. I bought 16 ounce and 1 gallon plastic bottle crates from Costco. I didn't do the math, but I'm sure this purchase will save me money in the long run. I have definitely reduced BPA. Regarding filter replacement, APEC offers an annual replacement with FILTER-SET-ESPH (4 stages) and a replacement of all 6 stages every 2-4 years with FIILTER-MAX-ESPH. People could easily make this installation in most homes. The instructions were easy to follow. It also includes everything you need for most installations. My house was built in 1951 and my sink and drainpipes could not be installed under the sink. I ended up installing mine in a closet in the garage. Luckily, the cabinet is right behind the kitchen sink. I prefer this setup as it makes changing filters easier and I can save all my under sink storage space! Note. Any holes you drill through the wall into the garage must be sealed with fire retardant expandable foam so as not to affect the fire rating of the wall between the garage and the kitchen. I ran a line to my ice maker. I had to buy a tee and a few more whistles. Both were at my local Lowes. I also had to add a hole in my sink for a dispenser. Drilling into a porcelain sink might seem intimidating, but it was pretty easy after I bought a 1/2-inch Milwaukee Diamond Plus with a mini crown at my local hardware store. I did not route the drain line to the sewer as instructed. I pointed mine at the rain barrel on the porch across from my office. I use the water to water my potted plants, flower beds and front lawn. The unit will drain 12 gallons for every 4 gallons of potable water it produces. It may seem like a lot, but I haven't noticed any increase in my water bill. When I first started it, the water was cloudy. I read in an FAQ that this is due to air being trapped in the water and dissipating after a few uses. For me it was crystal clear after two days. Definitely recommend this product.
