Review on Kaytee Straight Finch Station Replacement Socks: High-Quality Accessories for Your Bird Feeder by Matthew Miles

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Are these "thistle seed socks " made in America? The holes are too big for thistle seeds!

I should have known better than to buy them from Kaytee. The latter were large enough to feed on millet seeds. Since the knitting holes for the thistle seeds have to be very small due to the very small size of the thistle seeds, I am once again very disappointed with the thistle seed replacement socks from Kaytee. Within 15 minutes almost all of the thistle seeds were scattered on our porch floor just below where we placed a very full Kaytee Sock. Finches eat sunflower seeds right out of the ground when squeezed out, but they ignored the spoiled and very expensive thistle seeds that lay there. I'll try millet seeds. The holes definitely look more appropriate for a seed of this size. I hope Katie tries out these "thistle seed socks" in her own service areas to prove how awful they are! Then find a supplier with smaller holes to feed the thistle seeds properly and not just knock them to the ground!

Pros
  • Great Price
Cons
  • Big and Chunky
