Review on πŸ”§ Authentic Genie 36179R.S Garage Door Opener Trolley Assembly - OEM Part, Ensuring Quality and Compatibility by Gregory Chaitanya

Failed in 7 months?

This part failed after only 7 months of very infrequent use (less than one opening per day on average) when the upper lip was rubbed on one side. When I took it off, the other side was already almost worn out. At first I thought I might have bought a counterfeit part from Revain, but no, the supplier was a genius shop with an "OEM" part in the name. The Genie website had the same part and description. So when I wanted to order the part again from Revain, I looked at the reviews to see how others were having the same issue. I didn't bother to take a picture of myself after seeing other people's carts with the same worn top hem. The last carriage that wore on my blade earlier this year was over 10 years old. The metal teeth on this bogie were worn - they could no longer engage the drive shaft, but the body of the bogie itself still looked great - with little to no visible wear. Think about it - the metal part wears out before the plastic part. Has anything changed in the material of the cart body to loosen up the plastic, or has the design changed to put more stress on the top edges? Anyway, I added more grease to the already well lubricated drive rail and fitted a new bogie. If it fails again after so many months, Genie will lose a customer for a long time (decades). What is the lifetime value of a satisfied garage door opener customer? Much higher than cent savings on spare parts. Genie Product Management/Warranty Team - Have you read these reviews?
