This is a nice set: nice to look at, cleans well, perfectly balanced, feels good and I love the flat surface Lid. The weight is just right - not too heavy, but definitely not flimsy, nor are they light. The shape and slightly matte finish give this set a rich and classic look. I have an induction cooktop and they work very well on it. The kitchen surface I have chosen is very scratch sensitive and it takes a very flat surface to see the pan "whatever" underneath the surface. I had no problems with the bottom of these pans. I highly recommend them for an induction cooktop. (The metal bases of my non-stick Analon pans scratched the ceramic glass of my cooktop so badly that I stopped using them and turned them to dust.) I have to say that while they conduct heat very quickly and thoroughly, my Viking Contemporary pots and pans turned out great Stainless steel (which is VERY similar to this set) conducts and retains heat even better. So you can look at this line and compare the prices. (Although pans, which hold heat very well, might not be the best choice if you have heat sources you can't turn very low.) As for the handles: My hands aren't manly, but neither are they. small. and I have long fingers. These grips are comfortable but a bit short for my palm. And that's not helped by the fact that these grips are tapered at the ends. You feel cool. That being said, I would like to comment on the details in this 11 piece set. What I'm about to say can help you make your choices in sets, because the combos that Calphalon have put together for us make it really hard to make decisions! I love that this set includes a 10" and a 12" pan, both with lids. . You don't need 6" or 8" stainless steel pans. In these smaller sizes, you want the best nonstick coating you can afford. 6β³ and 8β³ are used primarily for eggs, and the nonstick coating works best for this. I find a 3 liter skillet too similar to a 10 inch pan. The pot has straight sides. , the pan has sloping sides. The sides of the pot are slightly higher, but not by much. I really don't see the need for a pan this size if you have a pan with a lid. A 5 liter frying pan comes with one of the sets and this pan would be a lot healthier for me. This set contains two lids of exactly the same size. What a waste in my opinion! A 10-inch pan and a 3-quart pan with the same sized lid. Why not switch between two pans with a lid? I like the 2.5 liter pot, although I think higher sides would be healthier than a wider bottom. But the extra pint - in both one-litre and two-litre pots - is a definite plus. Good luck finding your new cookware! Don't be upset. Definitely spend a lot of time thinking thoughtfully.
