The negative comments about removing the back cover are absolutely correct. manufactured round rubber pads used to remove the lids of the jars. The trick is to provide enough "grip" between the front and back covers of the controller, since the front has a very thin border. Same as the original Samsung remote control to remove the back cover. The covers must be pressed down and in the direction of the arrow. Can't comment on durability or life expectancy, but at this point the value certainly outweighs the difference in retail price of a Samsung-branded replacement.
