These gates are beautifully finished, durable and strong. It was a bit difficult to adjust to size and my friend had to cut blocks to fit, but that's fine because our new house doesn't have a standard door or entrance. Our new house is very hot and only has two windows that open. I bought this so I can open the front door and keep my dogs inside while I get some air. He also built in a deadbolt so it could be locked when the door was closed, walking in and out, or letting the dogs out. I'm glad it worked. I really like that it oscillates both ways even though we don't use that feature and that there is no threshold. It snaps fairly well with assistance (it doesn't just close behind you) and opens well with one hand if you press the button down with your thumb and pull the latch up with four fingers.
