I have tried different types of gates to keep my dogs in a certain place and this one was the winner! It's a high traffic area with my extended family and I going in and out several times a day. These strong gates can withstand all of us, and after you get used to how to open them, you'll be golden! We put another one outside on the patio at the top of the stairs to give freedom to the dogs in the yard below. It comes with an alternate part that you attach where it latches so it doesn't open up

These gates are beautifully finished, durable and strong. It was a bit difficult to adjust to size and my friend had to cut blocks to fit, but that's fine because our new house doesn't have a standard door or entrance. Our new house is very hot and only has two windows that open. I bought this so I can open the front door and keep my dogs inside while I get some air.
