I had a hard time finding a soft stretcher that would fit under the US Airways seat from North Carolina to Washington and fit my two cats. the same carrier. I stumbled across this here at Revain and thought the trapezoidal shape was a brilliant idea for making the most of the interior. I was hesitant to buy this because it was about double the price of the others but if I had to buy 2 separate ones anyway I would be the same price as this one and knew my cats would be happier together so I bit into that one sour apple and ordered it. I'm so glad I am too because it worked out perfectly! My two cats were comfortable indoors (one is 10.5 pounds and the other is 10). It hangs well on my shoulder when I carry it to the airport and has plenty of mesh for airflow. The zip door on the sides has a metal rim to keep it in shape and prevent it from falling on your pet (which cheaper carriers didn't have). It's a very neutral and attractive brown and orange color scheme that isn't too flashy or screams "I'VE GOT A PET IN THE BAG!". The orange inner liner is removable and has a board that keeps its shape and gives the interior a nice flat bottom. It doesn't appear to be washable so I put these disposable training mats in in case a kitty had an accident during our nearly 6 hour flight. Overall I am very impressed with the carrier. It measures an inch more than US Airways allows pets under a padded seat, but it fits perfectly! *** UPDATED *** (6/5/2014) Wow. I paid about eighty dollars for it in January 2010 and it's currently listed for forty so well worth it! I have used the bag many times since buying it for my two cats and also my 17 lb dog and it still looks brand new! Many airlines have reduced the allowed height for pets. I wouldn't think twice about using this bag again if needed, even though it's a few inches larger, because you can flatten the top a bit (this gives it a triangular shape). Don't make it so high, but don't take away your pet's berth either.
