Introduced a lot of noise
Although it is a metal box, it receives a lot of electromagnetic interference. The external speakers produce an additional hiss in the background that correlates fairly well with what the laptop is doing - a certain web page starts up an intermittent animation, and as the animation continues, I hear additional hiss.
