That does not work. - Tire and wheel tools

I know cars very well and repair almost everything in them (including electronics, I was a car technician). I decided to try this product to fix a bead seal leak on one of my tires. Small leak near the rim, about 3/8 inch. Received this product this morning - following the instructions I deflated the tire, opened one of the sealant bags, fitted a hose over the nozzle and then fitted the other end onto my tire's valve as directed. It was just a few drops! Nothing more. I found this very cryptic as the package appeared to contain liquid. I took the nozzle off and saw that there were lumps in the liquid that got stuck in the spout and stopped the flow of liquid. It was new packaging that I received and opened today and there were already lumps in there!? Well I removed three or so lumps one at a time and filled my tire with fluid. I turned it over per the instructions (I did this for about 35 minutes) and then after installing the valve inflated the tire, I could still see the leaking air but then that liquid sealant started leaking too so did it I'm worried because I thought it might work. I came back and saw that all the fluid had dried, so I decided to inflate the tire to about 40psi (the tire is rated for a maximum pressure of 51psi). What the heck - while I'm pumping air, I hear the air escaping again! The damn thing had absolutely no effect on the leak. It looks like I have 1) a crappy old sealant kit with clumps in it and 2) it's definitely NOT meant to fix a sealant leak or anything around 3/8" - maybe it's just for slow/micro /ideal best case scenario is a tiny leak from a tire. I don't know if this will work for a puncture due to a nail or something, but it's definitely not designed for about 3/8" of a sealant leak near the to seal the rim. Spent something like 26 dollars on it.

Pros
  • Tire repair tools
Cons
