Swissmar is really the best cheese fondue pot brand. I'm Swiss, so I know how real fondue pots should look and work. You should be able to cook fondue on the stove and then place the pot on the fondue burner; This pot works great and looks great. Swissmar also offers a fondue recipe, which isn't perfect but is suitable for beginners. One tip I definitely recommend is to buy fondue fuel online, it's blue fondue gel; It's very hard to find in a regular supermarket and the most common is scooped out of a can, which isn't that good and is a complete headache. There are some annoying things I'm feeling. but need to list: 1. The handle of the pot looks different from the picture, it is not quite round but is in the shape of a crescent: the top is round and the bottom is flat.2. The supplied fondue forks are not actually typical fondue forks, they are thicker and have three prongs. (They are pictured though.) Don't let that confuse you though. This is the best and most traditional Swiss cheese fondue on the market at such a great price. I'm a student so I considered just getting a cheap fondue pot, but I'm glad I invested in a more expensive model. I will have this for years!
