Review on Triangle Borea 2 Way Bookshelf Speakers by Lori Kurtz

The Triangle Borea BR02 offers a generous, balanced range of realistic tones, textures and details as well as an expansive, tactile 3D soundstage. I looked at Elac Uni-Fi UB52* and Triangle BR03 but first found a lot on BR02. They proved more than adequate for my 16 x 16 foot room, about 2 feet from the back wall and about 4 feet from the side walls, 28 inches off the floor, with toes tilted about 15 degrees, and tilted about up . 5-10 degrees. These monitors require at least 50 hours of break-in to work, but the sheer musicality and listening comfort are worth it. Give them more time and the BR02 will slowly [but surely] captivate you with a rich and rewarding listening experience. The BR02 also scales very well with changes in upstream hardware. Integrated between the integrated Elac EA101EQ-G ["BASH" Class AB ] and Wyred4Sound [W4S] mINT [Class D], Triangles respond differently but are equally appealing, utilizing the good qualities of the individual amps. , more detailed, above all dynamically differentiated and finely nuanced. To my ears, the Class D amplification strikes the right balance between transparency [for more critical listening modes] and tonal/textural ambience [for more enjoyable listening modes].) and with the Triangle BR02 playback - I don't think I would mind at all waiting! Associated devices: - Windows PC/YouTube, Tidal Master - via USB input or analog input with Pro-Ject USB Box S+ - Built-in Elac EA101EQ-G [40 W per channel / 8 Ohm]; Integrated Wyred4Sound mINT [100 WPC/8 Ohm] - Triangle BR02 - various aftermarket cables/settings [iFi iPurifier3, USB Disruptor with daBig Genius cable, Triphaser, DakiOm Feedback Stabilizer, MillerSound Interconnects, JW Cryo Speaker Cables, Totem Beaks , RDC Cones, MyAudioCable power cord, Shakti Stone, PowerVar AC] Other used speakers: Polk Monitor 7 PSB Stratus Silver NHT 2.5i Aliante Pininfarina Model One [with Sunfire True Sub] Wharfedale Diamond 9.1 [with Mission MS-10 Subwoofer] - KEF iQ10 [with Martin Logan Dynamo Subwoofer] - Elac Uni-Fi UB5.22+ Weekly update: These speakers just keep getting better. I replaced the Ebony Herbie's Gabon footers with RDC cones and increased the angle of the speaker a few more degrees. Bigger, More Defined Soundstage: Everything is even more detailed and musical than before. Update 3+ week: set to [24bit/96kHz] USB with Wyred4Sound mINT. Frequency, tonality, timbre and dynamic balance sound just right. [ . . . I'm currently enjoying the album Bossa Nova USA by the Dave Brubeck Quartet. . . 8+ week update: Heard Elac UB5.2 but left BR02 instead. The Elacs offered an exceptional soundstage, but lacked the more natural/rich midrange of the Triangles. However, I ended up buying a pair of Triangle BR03s, ending my search for speakers. :)
